The frame is 600 series OCLV carbon which use advanced aerospace materials and weight-saving, performance-enhancing process to have the best blend of frame weight and strength. Trek has taken their time making sure this frame fits women specifically, denoted as WSD. The greater the fit, the better the comfort, stability, power and control. Trek also uses their H2 fit that features a slightly higher head tube to put less strain on your back and neck.
Going from the frame to the components, the bike comes equipped with an all Shimano Ultegra Drivetrain. The shifters are Shimano STI 10-speed, and because they are totally integrated, you can more easily switch gears and use the brake, as they are located together on the handlebars. The STI shifters control the front and rear Shimano Ultegra derailleurs, which means you can be confident that each shift is going to be swift and sure.
To ensure your comfort, Trek went with Bontrager for the saddle, handlebars, and grips. Bontrager is the industry leader when it comes to comfort, so you shouldn't worry about how comfortable this bike is to ride.
